The Chelish Constitutional Convention is a glowfic megacontinuity, meaning a collaborative fiction project written by a whole bunch of different people.
Chelcon is set in the D&D Pathfinder universe. It follows the story of a country (Cheliax) formerly ruled by literal Hell -- referred to in some glowfic as "the horrifying thought experiment country" -- now trying to create a constitution that will bring it into a new era. The new rulers of Cheliax have a democracy fetish, so they want a constitutional convention. They decide that, while some appointees to the convention can be from the nobility and the churches, some should be elected, and some -- some of the most interesting characters of all -- should be "sortition": selected at random from the populace and kidnapped to the convention.
There are many, many threads, and it can be difficult to navigate and figure out what parts you're most interested in without reading every single one. So this is my read guide: the essential Chelcon, the most fun and fascinating parts, based on the characters and storylines that I have enjoyed most.
